The aim of the non-profit website easterbilby.com.au is to provide an educational resource for Australian primary school children and teachers. The website is in support of the Save the Bilby Fund and is sponsored by Australian chocolate manufacturer Darrell Lea which donates money to the Fund through the sale of chocolate Easter bilbies.

The website includes resources for teachers educating students in Early Stage 1 through to Stage 3 in order to help foster the ideals of conservationism and environmentalism amongst Australian youth.

These educational resources have been designed and prepared by experienced practising teachers currently working within the state education system. Each Stage comprises three to four lesson plans that address the key curriculum areas: mathematics, literacy (talking and listening, reading and writing) and visual arts.

This site also features a myriad of interactive opportunities for students to learn about the bilby including:

  • Project Material – access to bilby fact sheets and pictures for school projects.
  • Save a Bilby - outlines the different ways students and schools can help the endangered bilby.
  • Fun Stuff – bilby games and competitions.

All of these online resources are designed to integrate seamlessly with teacher-initiated classroom activities.
