easterbilby.com.au is a joint initiative of the Save the Bilby Fund, the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and chocolate manufacturer Darrell Lea.

We are working together to make sure that the bilby does not become extinct. With so few bilbies left in the wild, this website was created to inform Australian youth about the animal’s plight and how they can make a difference. easterbilby.com.au is a non-profit service available to Australian school children and teachers.

The Save the Bilby Fund is run by Ranger Frank ‘the bilby man’ Manthey and Ranger Peter McRae. Frank is a dedicated ranger for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS). Frank and Peter are the champions of the bilby cause and have already raised more than $200,000 for a bilby sanctuary and breeding programme.

Thanks to the generosity of everyday Australians, the Save the Bilby Fund along with QPWS manage a fenced area in the Currawinya National Park (south-west Queensland) where bilbies can live without fear of feral animals.

Darrell Lea is the largest and oldest Australian-owned chocolate manufacturer. In support of the bilby, Darrell Lea stores will stock their shelves with chocolate bilbies at Easter and make a donation from each bilby sold to the Save the Bilby Fund.
